What is Inclusive Employment Australia?
Inclusive Employment Australia is the Australian Government’s new specialist disability employment program that replaces the Disability Employment Services program from 1 November 2025. It assists people with disability, injury or health conditions to find and maintain work and grow their career.
Who’s eligible to join Inclusive Employment Australia?
You may be referred to Inclusive Employment Australia if you’re living with a disability, injury, illness, or health condition that means you need extra support at work.
You can join Inclusive Employment Australia if you have:
- A disability.
- An injury.
- A long-term health condition.
You do not need to be on an income support payment from Centrelink.
Does MTC FutureReady deliver Inclusive Employment Australia?
Starting 1 November 2025, MTC FutureReady is delivering Inclusive Employment Australia from a number of locations across Greater Sydney and Melbourne.
MTC FutureReady is a social enterprise that’s here to help people take practical steps towards real progress. Our meaningful employment services, targeted training programs and unbeatable support are all designed to bring about fresh possibilities and drive life-changing transformation. Each year we support over 22,000 people across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and the ACT who are vulnerable and facing barriers to employment.
What are the benefits of Inclusive Employment Australia?
- Participants will have personalised support, a job plan and services created to help them get ready for work, find a job and keep it.
- Participants can choose their own provider at any time.
- Participants can join Inclusive Employment Australia even if they only work a few hours a week.
- Providers like MTC FutureReady will take the time to get to know Participants to understand their skills and what supports they need.
- There are no time limits for how long a Participant can be supported by their Provider.
- There will be more providers with expertise in working with people with different disabilities or from different backgrounds.
- More people with disability will have opportunities to work.
- Participants do not need to receive government payments to be part of Inclusive Employment Australia.
What makes MTC FutureReady’s Inclusive Employment Australia service different to all the other providers?

- A bespoke program – Employment Readiness – which covers Goal Setting, Managing Stress and Anxiety, Life Management Strategies and Workplace Expectations.
- Counselling to support people with the normal challenges that come with starting a new job and juggling life with work.
- Remote services include bilingual online meetings, phone, and chat messaging to ensure equitable access.
- Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality vocational training via Work Window.

How do I switch to MTC FutureReady as my Inclusive Employment Australia provider?
- The Department of Social Services is writing to Participants with information and support to help the switch to Inclusive Employment Australia. This letter will tell you what to do next.

Will my benefits be affected in any way by the change from DES to Inclusive Employment Australia?
No, your benefits will not be affected. Participants will still receive their payments during the changeover period. Participants who were involved with DES will be sent a letter by Department of Social Services from 22 August 2025 with more information and support to help the change to Inclusive Employment Australia.
What happens if I have Mutual Obligations?
For Participants who have mutual obligation requirements, the Department of Social Services (DSS) will pause them from 16 October 2025 until the Participant engages with their new Inclusive Employment Australia Provider. Participants will still receive payment during this period. Participants won’t receive any demerits for not meeting their mutual obligations during this transition period.
Will I have to fill in any forms with my new Inclusive Employment Australia Provider?
Yes. When you (the Participant) start with their new Inclusive Employment Australia Provider, the Provider will take the Participant through the Onboarding process which includes completing forms and assessments like privacy and consent forms, Job plan, registration forms etc.
Will the conditions and obligations be the same with my new Inclusive Employment Australia Provider?
Although agreements may look different, they will still be in line with the Participants’ personal and career goals and objectives.
What if I want to stay with my old Provider?
Participants have a choice. If a current DES provider is continuing as an Inclusive Employment Australia Provider, then the Participant can stay with them. Participant will receive a second DSS letter from 24 September 2025 that will provide more detailed information about:
- How Participants can stay with their current Provider.
- Who the Participant’s new Provider will be.
- How Participants can transfer to a Provider of their choice.
What if I want to change Providers?
- How Participant can stay with their current provider.
- Who the Participants new provider will be (if their original provider is no longer delivering Inclusive Employment Australia services).
- How Participant can transfer to a provider of their choice, whether they are near where they live or not.
