BSB30220 – Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business provides foundational skills and knowledge to help you explore and develop small business ideas. You’ll learn how to identify opportunities, create a practical business plan with financial projections, and build capabilities in customer service, finance, and marketing—key areas for managing a small business effectively.
Who is eligible for this course?
This course is available to all students under the Smart and Skilled initiative of NSW State Training.
To be eligible*, you need to:
be aged 15 years or older
no longer at school
living or working in NSW
be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen.

Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital skills
To successfully complete this course, you will need skills in:
Reading and comprehending course learning content
Conducting basic internet searches
Engaging in online learning, including video conferencing sessions
Using a range of software to communicate electronically and create simple documents.
If you require assistance with Language, Literacy, Numeracy, or Digital skills, we offer support to help you succeed, including:

How is this course delivered?
Duration & delivery mode
This course is delivered online through Microsoft Teams and is scheduled for 26 hours per week (Monday – Friday) for a minimum of 17 weeks with an option to extend to 12 months, depending on personal circumstances. It will include:
- facilitated virtual learning;
- self-paced learning through our online learning platform;
- and virtual coaching sessions.
Student IT requirements
Students must have access to a computer or laptop, word processing software, and the internet to undertake this course.

Certification
Successful completion of this course will lead to a nationally recognised qualification in Australia, awarded by MTC FutureReady.
Should a student not complete the full qualification, a Statement of Attainment will be issued for the units in which the student is deemed Competent.
