MTC was established in 1989 in Marrickville by a team of just three. Now we’re a group of 450 dedicated people working at more than 50 locations across NSW, ACT and Queensland and every year we support 20,000 people with new skills, confidence and opportunities.

Smart and Skilled eligibility criteria

MTC offers a range of Vocational Education & Training (VET) courses funded by the NSW Government’s Smart and Skilled initiative.

The courses we offer are:

  • FSK20119 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways
  • BSB20120 Certificate II in Workplace Skills
  • BSB30120 Certificate III in Business
  • BSB30220 Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business

    Assess your eligibility

    You may be eligible to enrol in government-subsidised Smart and Skilled training if you are:

    aged 15 years or older

    no longer at secondary school

    Living or working in NSW (or an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person living in specific defined interstate NSW border areas)

    an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen

    A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required for vocational education and training. If you do not have one, we’re happy to help you obtain one
