MTC FutureReady places 1,000 people in meaningful employment before Christmas
MARRICKVILLE, DECEMBER 2025: MTC FutureReady’s Workforce Australia and Inclusive Employment Australia teams have successfully placed 1,000 people in sustainable employment across Brisbane and Greater Sydney as part of the 1,000 jobs for a thousand futures initiative.
Reflecting on the success, MTC CEO Rob Marshall said, “We know how important this time of year is and, in an economy, where jobs are getting harder to come by, the team has done a phenomenal job in achieving this milestone. It means 1,000 people are heading into the holidays with more stability, more confidence, and more hope. ”
“This was such a concerted effort from everyone in the team and the wider organisation. The Inclusive Employment Australia team, who joined just in early November also made a huge impact to the final tally. This is a fantastic result, and I’m honestly so proud of what we’ve achieved together,” MTC General Manager, Employment Services Mark Zaia said.
One participant, Dave, spent 12 years out of work and required wraparound support, including Allied Health services and financial assistance, to access training and secure a new role. Read his full story.
Workforce Australia is a government-funded program designed to help people prepare for and find work. Inclusive Employment Australia is a new Australian Government employment program designed to support people with disability, injury or health conditions to find and maintain work and grow their career.
Participants in these programs work one-on-one with a Coach who helps them identify their strengths and get job-ready. Coaches also connect participants to opportunities and provide ongoing check-ins with both participants and employers to ensure a smooth transition into work.
Eligible participants can also access funds through the No Interest Loans Scheme to cover essential costs such as work equipment, technology, car repairs or education expenses.
MTC FutureReady’s team comes from diverse backgrounds and understands the challenges participants face. One example is Sam, a Recruitment Coach with Workforce Australia, who placed over 70 people into meaningful employment during this jobs drive. Read Sam’s story.
This milestone is more than just a number; it represents 1,000 futures being changed for the better. While this was a short-term goal, MTC FutureReady remains committed to helping people take practical steps towards the future they want.
