Inclusive Employment Australia for Eligible School Leavers (ESL)

Do you know a young person in their final year of school and living with disability, injury or health condition? MTC’s Inclusive Employment Australia service can help them get work-ready, find a job that fits and access the support they need to thrive in it.

What is Inclusive Employment Australia for Eligible School Leavers

Inclusive Employment Australia is an Australian Government employment program designed to support people with disability, injury or health conditions to find and maintain meaningful work and grow their career.

MTC’s Inclusive Employment Australia for Eligible School Leavers service puts young Participants’ needs first, offering greater flexibility and personalised support to unlock their potential.

Eligibility

To be eligible for ESL, a participant needs to be:

in their final year of high school or doing a school-based apprenticeship,

participating in, or having recently completed, a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funded employment assistance program, or a State/Territory Government funded post-school employment or work transition program,

of legal working age and in need of help finding meaningful employment,

a person with a disability, an injury, or a long-term health condition that affects areas such as mobility, communication, self-care, self-direction, work tolerance, or work skills.

To confirm ESL eligibility, a participant may need:

a school statement confirming they are in their final year of school, their identified disability, and any additional education funding received,

evidence of participation in an NDIS-funded employment program or a State or Territory‑funded transition program,

proof of receiving a Disability Support Pension (DSP), such as a letter from Services Australia.
