Assistant Treasurer Dr Daniel Mulino opens MTC FutureReady’s services in Victoria

FOOTSCRAY, 24 FEBRUARY 2026: Assistant Treasurer Dr Daniel Mulino, MP today officially launched MTC FutureReady’s Inclusive Employment Australia service in Victoria.

Proudly for purpose, not for profit, MTC FutureReady delivers the Australian Government-funded Inclusive Employment Australia service from five sites in the Westgate region of Melbourne and in almost 30 suburbs in Greater Sydney.

MTC FutureReady Chief Executive Officer Rob Marshall said MTC’s purpose was helping people find theirs and launching the Inclusive Employment Australia service in Victoria meant the organisation could expand that positive impact.

“At MTC FutureReady, we envision a society where every individual, regardless of the barriers they may have, has the opportunity to shape their own future. We have a long-standing history of working with people with disability, with 17% of our program participants living with disability,” MTC FutureReady CEO Rob Marshall said.

Opening MTC’s Footscray service, Assistant Treasurer and Member for Fraser, Dr Daniel Mulino, MP said he was encouraged to hear the stories of participants and see social enterprises working together to support members of the Fraser community.

“It’s really important, purposeful work that organisations like MTC FutureReady do. This is an area of policy delivery which is about partnerships. The Federal Government has a role to play through Workforce Australia, Local Government has a role to play but it really is an area of policy delivery which is about different people and organisations working together,” Dr Mulino said.

“As Workforce Australia evolves and as government’s delivery and support of those services evolves, we need to support organisations that are willing to lean in a bit more, willing to invest a bit more in each person, willing to come up with more individualised strategies.”

Inclusive Employment Australia puts the participant at the centre of the service to help create a more inclusive future. It gives people with disability, injury or health condition, the support to prepare for, find and maintain work, and grow their career.

“MTC FutureReady understands the unique employment challenges faced by people with disability and we tailor our services to directly address them. Our teams are trained in person-centred support, meeting the specific needs and aspirations of everyone who comes to us for support,” MTC FutureReady General Manager, Employment Services Mark Zaia said.

Speaking at the official opening, Inclusive Employment Australia Participant Marnie Roberts said living with a brain injury made navigating services and support challenging.

“With MTC’s help I found my calling and I’m looking forward to securing full time work,” Ms Roberts said.

Inclusive Employment Australia Participant Anthony Closter who now works as Manager at the Earth Village Community Op Shop said MTC provided very practical support.

“My Employment Practitioner Kylie took the time to listen to me and really get to know me,” Mr Closter said.
