MTC was established in 1989 in Marrickville by a team of just three. Now we’re a group of 450 dedicated people working at more than 50 locations across NSW, ACT and Queensland and every year we support 20,000 people with new skills, confidence and opportunities.

Meet the team

The MTC FutureReady Board is responsible for ensuring our organisation operates in accordance with relevant laws and MTC FutureReady’s constitution. The Executive Leadership Team brings together leaders within MTC FutureReady with extensive experience, skills, and knowledge in the areas of operations, finance, people and culture, information technology, risk, marketing, and business development.

Board of Directors

Rob Campbell – Chairman

With over 30 years’ experience, Rob has specialised in business consolidation, growth, and transformational change across the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. Rob has led and consulted in organisations such as Australia Post, Alcatel-Lucent, Macquarie Bank, Mission Australia and Uniting. Within the not-for-profit sector, Rob has significant experience providing strategic direction in workforce participation, social and community housing, and community services for marginalised Australians.

Linda Justin

Linda has extensive senior management experience across the health and human services sectors, achieving operational excellence through collaboration, innovative thinking and a focus on customer-centricity. She has worked with boards, executives and front-line staff on transformation projects across a range of national and international organisations, such as KPMG, Uniting and Aruma. Linda is also a member of the HammondCare Board and an external member of St Vincent’s Health Australia.

Michael Broadhead

Michael has more than 20 years’ experience in brand and digital strategy, design, and communications. He is a trustee of CEDA (Committee for the Economic Development of Australia) and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). Michael has global and regional experience with large multinationals and start-ups in Australia, the United States, Singapore and China and has also worked with Federal, NSW and Queensland Government agencies including the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Nick Spooner

With two decades of industry experience, Nick has emerged as a preeminent authority on leading and operating digital and technology businesses. During this time, Nick has sat at the forefront of managing digital transformational change and has led several companies in this space. Nick is a proven executive with a career spanning global consulting firms, PwC (South East Asia and Australia) and Accenture (UK and Australia), and senior industry positions at SingTel, Optus, ninemsn, Network Ten and Salmat Digital. He’s also experienced as a board member, having previously served as Chair of Youth Off The Streets and the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) in Australia.

Robyn Milner

Robyn is a senior executive with 30 years of experience in financial and commercial management. Specialising in interim CFO roles, financial management consulting, and leading business transformation initiatives, Robyn has a proven record of achieving substantial profit growth for businesses in a range of diverse industries across Australia and Asia. Robyn is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a trusted adviser to Boards of Directors, CEOs, and Senior Management with experience participating in Board and Finance, Audit & Risk Committee meetings for various ASX listed companies and large not-for-profits.

Rob Marshall

Chief Executive Officer

Rob is the CEO of MTC FutureReady and has been an executive leader within the organisation since 2018. His extensive career, exceeding 20 years, has been marked by successful leadership in delivering complex business solutions and transformation programs across a range of sectors.

Rob’s prior experience includes leading large scale ERP transformation programs for multinational retailers and heading the development of global supply chain technology solutions for high-profile companies such as Apple, Samsung, Dell, Microsoft and HP. Rob also serves as a Non-Executive Director for both the National Employment Services Association (NESA) and MTC Recruitment. He is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), a Fellow of the Institute of Employability Professionals (IEP), and holds a Bachelor of E-Commerce Engineering from The University of Sydney.

Claire Van Heyningen

General Manager, Marketing & Communications

Claire has more than 20 years’ experience across a multitude of disciplines, including marketing & advertising, communications & stakeholder engagement, brand development, business strategy, experience optimisation, technical development and organisational leadership. Having spent much of her career working with creative agencies and consultancies, Claire made the move into the NFP sector, previously working in the NDIS and wellbeing space before joining MTC FutureReady. She has a Graduate Certificate in Management from UTS and is currently studying a Master of Business Psychology with Edith Cowan University.

James is an accomplished manager and business development professional with a proven track record of driving growth, particularly in the non-profit sector. Equipped with extensive experience in strategic planning, business growth, and organisational profile development, he excels in high-pressure environments. His diverse skillset spans stakeholder engagement, expansion strategy, and government relations. A data-driven leader, he fosters strong relationships to achieve exceptional results. His past roles include Regional Manager at OCTEC and Executive Manager at CatholicCare.

Joseph Yap

General Manager, Governance, Risk & Compliance

Joseph is a proven senior manager with a background in Quality, Risk Compliance, with experience in Operations Management as well as business development. He brings over 15 years of experience in the development and management of Governance, Risk and compliance frameworks and implementation of quality management systems.

His passion is to develop internal processes and systems that provide assurance to the business in achieving organisational strategic goals and meeting regulatory requirements. Joseph has predominantly worked in the Healthcare industry and Not for Profits but has also held roles in Education, Finance and most recently in Aged Care. Joseph holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management), a Post Graduate Certificate (Management), and a Certificate in Governance and Risk Management. He is also a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia.

Mark Zaia – General Manager, Employment Services

General Manager, Employment Services

Mark is an experienced leader with extensive knowledge of Employment Services, having operated in every state and territory in Australia. Before joining MTC FutureReady in September 2020, Mark was Operations Manager for Sureway Employment and Training, covering 91 sites and 450 staff. He has also managed partnerships nationally for The Salvation Army’s Employment Plus and worked as State Manager for Jobs Statewide. Mark specialises in motivating and mobilising large teams of people to exceed targets in the highly competitive employment services environment.

Richard has more than 18 years’ experience leading financial operations, driving strategic initiatives, and delivering business transformation across both corporate and not-for-profit sectors. Before joining MTC FutureReady, Richard held senior finance roles in disability services and multinational retail brands, where he led initiatives in operational efficiency, governance, and financial strategy. Richard is a dedicated advocate for not-for-profit financial sustainability, and innovation. Richard holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a member of CPA Australia.

A passionate and experienced HR Business Partner, Samantha joined the leadership team after five years in a supporting role at MTC FutureReady. Samantha has over 20 years of experience working in for-purpose, not-for-profits, FMCG, education and retail sectors and is skilled in career development, coaching, conflict resolution, remuneration and HR policies. A strong business development professional with a Bachelor of Commerce focused on Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations, Samantha is a trusted advisor to the organisation who enjoys partnering with leaders to ensure our team members feel supported, empowered and included.

Subhi Madi

General Manager, Education & Training

Subhi has two decades worth of experience in education and training. He joined MTC as a LLNP/SEE Trainer in 2005 and became a Centre Manager in 2006. In July 2010, he was promoted to regional manager for Skills for Education & Employment and since then has held managerial roles throughout the company’s Education & Training department, including as Head of Registered Training Organisation and Head of Government Education Programs. In 2023, Subhi was appointed General Manager Education and Training. Subhi holds a Graduate Diploma of Adult TESOL, Education and a Bachelor of Arts in History, Politics and Philosophy from Western Sydney University as well as a Master of International Relations, Political Economy from Macquarie University.

Chief Information Officer

Warwick is a highly experienced Information Technology specialist with more than 20 years of experience deploying and managing IT applications within large and complex organisations. Joining MTC in January 2023, Warwick has responsibility for the strategic direction of the organisation’s IT systems as well as the delivery of key projects and operational management. Warwick previously worked with The a2 Milk Company as the Head of IT Applications and has held senior roles with Scentre Group (Westfield) and Cater Care.
