Minister Amanda Rishworth and Ash Ambihaipahar MP visit MTC FutureReady Hurstville

HURSTVILLE, 4 AUGUST 2026: MTC FutureReady welcomed the Hon Amanda Rishworth MP, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, and Ms Ash Ambihaipahar MP, Member for Barton, to its Hurstville centre on Tuesday 4 August, showcasing the life-changing impact of employment, training and support services in the local community.

The visit provided an opportunity for Minister Rishworth and Ms Ambihaipahar to meet participants and staff involved in Workforce Australia, Inclusive Employment Australia, and the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program, gaining first-hand insight into how MTC FutureReady helps people build skills, confidence, and pathways to meaningful work. 

During the visit, the Minister met with participant Abeer, who recently secured employment with a local early learning centre. Hearing about the challenges she had overcome and her aspirations for the future highlighted the importance of confidence in achieving employment outcomes. 

“Confidence is not often seen as a skill, but I believe it is an absolutely essential one,” Minister Rishworth said. 

The visit also included an information session delivered by the Australian Retail Council, demonstrating how MTC FutureReady works alongside employers including Bunnings, Coles, and Lagardère to prepare people for work and connect them with employment opportunities. 

Minister Rishworth and Ms Ambihaipahar also met participants in the SEE Program, learning about the language, literacy, numeracy, digital and emerging AI skills being developed to support future employment opportunities. 

MTC FutureReady CEO Rob Marshall said the visit was an important opportunity to highlight the organisation’s impact and demonstrate how confidence underpins successful employment outcomes. 

“We were delighted to welcome Minister Rishworth and Ms Ambihaipahar to our unique Hurstville site and share the many ways our team supports people to achieve their goals,” Mr Marshall said.
